DIY Outdoor Dining Table + Cube Stools
We needed an outdoor dining table that actually looked good — not a big box store basic. So I built one. Solid cedar frame, modern lines, seats six, and pairs with a matching bench and cube stools that I’m obsessed with. Build plans with build plans available for everything below.
For seating on one side, I built a bench that matches the table. Benches are great. They’re easy to build, they maximize your seating space, they don’t break the visual flow (as chairs do with seat backs), and they balance out the heaviness of a large table.
For seating on the other side, I wanted to do something different and ended up designing and building these amazing Cube Stools. And as I mentioned, I’m kind of obsessed.
They’re kind of like individual benches with similar benefits. I really love how they look and I love how mobile they are. I can see us moving one to use as a impromptu side table or extra seating near our Outdoor Lounge Chairs, or pulling one up to the stock tank pool for similar reasons…

One set of plans covers both — the dining table and the matching bench. Solid cedar build, modern lines, seats six. Cut list, materials, and step-by-step diagrams included HERE.
Cube Stool Build Plans
Honestly my favorite part of the whole setup. These cedar cube stools double as movable extra seating or side tables — and they look incredible. Build plans with build plans available HERE
